    Scheme Introduction: A Brief Overview

    • How good it is when someone appreciates your work and rewards you, not only to keep you motivated but also to inspire others to improve their performance.
    • In 2022, with an aim to improve the education system from the block level to district level, the Odisha government started an initiative called the "Mukhyamantri Shiksha Puraskar Yojana".
    • In layman term the scheme is also pronounced as "Mukhyamantri Shikhya Puraskar".
    • Under the scheme, the state government rewards students, teachers, headmasters, institutions, schools, blocks, administrative units, and many others for their excellent contribution to the education industry.
    • The Mukhyamantri Shiksha Puraskar Yojana aims to encourage them to perform better and to motivate others as well.
    • Every year, the government will provide cash and scholarships to over 50,000 students, 1000 teachers, schools, alumni, institutions, and more.
    • However, the awards and scholarships will only be provided to those who fulfil the eligibility criteria outlined in the scheme's guidelines.
    • The benefits under the Mukhyamantri Shiksha Puraskar Yojana will be provided at state, district, and block levels.
    • If someone is shortlisted for the state level, they will not be considered for other levels.
    • The reward provided under the scheme will be credited to the beneficiaries bank accounts, or as specified for each category.
    • The award under the Mukhyamantri Shiksha Puraskar Yojana is basically divided into two categories; such as; Individual Awards and Institutional awards.
    • Individual awards will be given to students, officials, HMs, teachers and community members, in the form of cash and scholarships.
    • Whereas institutional awards will be provided to administrative units, chiefly in the form of cash and recognition.
    • For Academic Award, students will be selected based on their 10th Result, while other categories will be selected based on the Rubric.
    • In each rubric, the institution or individual will be tested on a variety of parameters.
    • Each parameters will be of different marks, and a list who score maximum marks be prepared.
    • The Mukhyamantri Shiksha Puraskar Yojana application form will be filled online, as per the direction of Mo School/TE&SCERT.
    • In case more than one individual or institutions secure the same scores as per the rubrics, ties will be resolved based on the suggested method.
    • Individual awards under the Mukhyamantri Shiksha Puraskar Yojana will be credited via DBT mode in the respective bank account.
    • Institutional award winners need to open an SB account in the name of "Mukhyamantri Shiksha Puraskar" to receive the award money, which will be managed by the designated officials.
    • Institutions must utilize the funds as per the guideline issued by the Odisha Govt Financial rules and income tax rules 2022.
    • A maximum of 60% funds can be utilize by the institutions for civil and construction related matters.

    Eligibility Requirement

    • Beneficiaries must meet the eligibility conditions to receive the benefits of Mukhyamantri Shiksha Puraskar Yojana. However, each category have different eligibility conditions, whose details are given as : -
      Award Category Eligibility Ineligibility
      For Students
      • Passed their 10th examination from Government or Government aided secondary or elementary schools.
      • Schools must be covered under the 5T HST programme.
      • They will be rewarded for the same academic year.
       
      For Teachers
      • Teachers of Government and government aided secondary or elementary schools are eligible.
      • They must be stationed for at least one academic year before the result announcement.
      • HMs can apply either for the HM award or teacher award but they cannot apply for both categories.
      • Educational administrators, district science supervisors, and training institutes staff are not eligible.
      • Guest teacher or vocational teacher.
      • If anyone is punished for any misconduct or case is pending against them.
      For Headmaster (HMs)
      • HMs must fall under the government or government aided secondary or elementary school covered under the 5T HST programme.
      • HMs in charge are also eligible.
      • He/She must be stationed for at least one academic year in the same school before the result announcement.
      • If found guilty or a case is pending against them for any misconduct.

      For CRCCs/BEO/DEO

       

      • All CRCCs are eligible.
      • Must be posted for at least one academic year where they apply for the award.
      • If punished for any official misconduct or any case of guilt is pending..
      District/Block/ SMC/ Gram Panchayat/ DIET
      • All district/blocks/Schools/SMC/ Gram Panchayat/ DIET are eligible
       
      School
      • All government and government aided secondary and elementary school covered under the 5T-HST programme.
       
      Alumni Committee
      • Al Mo School Alumni Committees.
       

    Required Documents

    • Applicants must produce their following documents when submitting applications for Mukhyamantri Shiksha Puraskar Yojana : -
      • Identity proof.
      • Aadhaar Card.
      • PAN Card.
      • SB Account details (Passbook Copy).
      • Address Proof.
      • Marksheet/Scorecard (for students).
      • Others as requested by the respective institution during application submission.

    Steps to Apply

    • Applicants need to submit an application form for Mukhyamantri Shiksha Puraskar Yojana to receive its benefits.
    • Procedure can be different as per the individuals or institutions.
    • Applicants need to visit the official portal, to submit the Mukhyamantri Shiksha Puraskar application online.
    • On the home page, applicants need to login with their respective details.
    • Filled the application form by providing the relevant details and upload documents if required.
    • Authority will prepare an applicant list based on the rubric parameters.
    • Benefits of the Mukhyamantri Shiksha Puraskar will be credited to bank account via DBT mode.
