The government of Madhya Pradesh launched Teerth Darshan Scheme in June 2012 for the senior citizens who have attained the age of 60 years. The scheme provides free visit to one of the identified pilgrimage sites in the country . Under the scheme, travelers are offered with travel by special rail, food and drink, lodging arrangements, travel by bus, guides and other facilities where necessary. These all expenses are provided by the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Limited, contracted to the Government of Madhya Pradesh, Religious Trust and Religious Department.

Eligibility Criteria

  1. Domicile of Madhya Pradesh
  2. Not an income tax payer
  3. He should have attained the age of 60 years.
  4. For women, 2 years leave i.e 58 years of age.
  5. Disabled citizens whose disability is more than 60% has no age bound.
  6. Spouse can also go to the journey together even if he/she is under 60 years of age.
  7. Whole group of not more than 25 persons can apply under the scheme.
  8. Physically and mentally competent to travel and not suffering from any infectious diseases like TB, Cardiac , respiratory disease, etc.

Eligibility of Care

  • Caretakers will be taken for single pilgrim who is over 65 years.
  • Husband and wife above 65 years are eligible to be taken caretakers.
  • A group of 3 to 5 persons will be eligible for an assistant (caretaker) on traveling as a group/batch.
  • Person with disabilities of more than 60% are eligible to be taken caretakers.

How to apply for CM Teerth Darshan Scheme

  1. The applicant need to fill the application in duplicate in the prescribed format.
  2. Form has to be filled in Hindi.
  3. Passport size photo has to be pasted in the form.
  4. It is mandatory to provide mobile number and residence address of any 2 persons for contact with close relatives in case of emergency.
  5. The application has to be submitted to the Tehsil/Sub-Tehsil Office.
  6. The applicant can also contact and submit the form at Municipal Corporation, District Panchayat Office etc.
