Telangana Vivekananda Overseas Education Scheme

Introduction

• Telangana Vivekananda Overseas Education Scheme is the major educational reform scheme of Telangana Government.
• It was started in the year 2018.
• The main objective behind launching this scheme is to provide financial assistance to those students who want to pursue their higher education from foreign university.
• Brahmin Samkshema Parishad of Telangana Government is the implementing agency of this scheme.
• This scheme is also called "Telangana Vivekananda Overseas Scholarship Scheme" or "Telangana Scholarship Scheme for Overseas Education".
• Under Telangana Vivekananda Overseas Education Scheme, Government of Telangana will provide scholarship to selected students up to Rs. 20,00,000/-.
• Apart from scholarship, Government also provide one way economy class air ticket fare for a maximum of Rs. 50,000/-.
• Student belongs to Brahmin Community are only eligible to apply for scholarship to study in foreign country under Telangana Vivekananda Overseas Education Scheme.
• Clearing TOEFL/ IELTS/ GRE/ GMAT/ PTE exam is mandatory before applying.
• Scholarship will only provided for the following course :-
  • Post Graduation Course.
  • Doctoral Course.
• Weightage considered for merit for selecting students under Vivekananda Overseas Scholarship Scheme of Telangana Government are :-
  • Degree Marks :- 60%.
  • GRE/GMAT Marks :- 20%.
  • IELTS/ TOEFL Marks :- 20%.
• Universities of 10 Countries i.e. USA, UK, Australia, Germany, Canada, Singapore, New Zealand, Japan, France, and South Korea are considered for scholarship under Telangana Vivekananda Overseas Education Scheme.
• Scholarship under this scheme will be provided in phased manner.
• Eligible Telangana Students can apply for Overseas Scholarship by filling Online Application Form of Telangana Overseas Education Scheme.

Benefits of Scheme

• The following financial assistance will be provided to all eligible Brahmin Students of Telangana under Telangana Vivekananda Overseas Education Scheme :-
  • Scholarship of Rs. 20,00,000/- will be provided for Tuition Fees.
  • Economy Class Air Ticket of Maximum Rs. 50,000/- will be paid to Students.

Eligibility Criteria

• Student should be a Permanent Resident of Telangana.
• Student should belong to Brahmin Community.
• The Annual Family Income of Student should not be more than Rs. 5,00,000/-.
• Student should secure minimum marks in any one of the below mentioned exams :-
  • TOEFL - 60.
  • IELTS - 6.0.
  • GRE - 260.
  • GMAT - 500.
  • PTE- 50.
• Applicant should have taken admission in Post Graduation Course of 18 to 24 Months of Duration or Doctoral Course.

Eligible Countries for Scholarship

• Students are eligible for overseas scholarship for education only if they secured admission in the university of any of the following countries :-
  • USA.
  • UK.
  • Australia.
  • Canada.
  • Singapore.
  • Germany.
  • New Zealand.
  • Japan.
  • France.
  • South Korea.

• The following documents is required at the time of applying for financial assistance for foreign education under Telangana Vivekananda Overseas Education Scheme :-
  • Residence Proof of Telangana.
  • Aadhar Card.
  • Passport.
  • VISA.
  • Passport Size Photo.
  • Caste Certificate.
  • Income Certificate.
  • Marksheets of 10th, 12th, Graduation, Post Graduation. (As Applicable).
  • Score Card of TOEFL/ IELTS/ PTE/ GRE/ GMAT.
  • University Admission Letter.
  • Bank Account Details.

How to Apply

• Eligible Students can apply for scholarship by filling Telangana Vivekananda Overseas Education Scheme Online Application Form.
• Online Application Form of Telangana Vivekananda Overseas Education Scheme is available at Telangana Brahmin Samkshema Parishad Portal.
• Aadhar Card is mandatorily needed for online application.
• After Aadhar verification through OTP, Beneficiary Student has to fill the below mentioned details steps wise in Vivekananda Overseas Education Scholarship Scheme :-
  • Personal Details.
  • Date of Birth.
  • Place of Birth.
  • Details of School/ College/ University.
  • Parents Details.
  • Details of Sibling.
  • Income Status of Family.
  • Caste Certificate Details.
  • Income Certificate Details.
  • Bank Account Details.
  • GRE/ IELTS/ TOEFL/ PTE/ GMAT Details.
  • Course Details Pursued in Abroad.
  • Details of Passport.
  • Details of VISA.
  • Upload all the Required Documents.
• After filling all the details and upload all the documents, click on submit.
• Application Form of Vivekananda Overseas Education Scheme along with all the documents will be scrutinised by the committee members.
• After Verification, scholarship under Telangana Vivekananda Overseas Education Scheme will be provided to students in phased manner.
