Odisha Khushi Scheme

Introduction

• Odisha Khushi Scheme is the health and hygienic scheme of Odisha Government.
• It was started in the year 2018.
• The term "Khushi" in Odisha Khushi Scheme means "Happiness" in Odia.
• Odisha State Medical Corporation Limited is the implementing agency of this scheme.
• And the nodal department of this scheme is Department of Health and Family Welfare of Odisha Government.
• The main objective behind launching this scheme is to promote health and hygiene in State specially in the school where young and adolescent girls are studying.
• Under Odisha Khushi Scheme, Government of Odisha will provide free of cost sanitary pads/ napkin to the girls students.
• Girl Students studying in Class 6th to Class 12th will be the beneficiary under Odisha Khushi Scheme.
• This scheme will encourage girls retention rate in schools and also encourage them to complete their education.
• It is to be estimated that more than 17 lakh school going girl of Odisha are meant to be get benefit under this scheme.
• Department of Health and Family Welfare of Odisha Government will spent 70 crore every year on this scheme.
• The benefit will also be given to the women lived in rural area of Odisha State.
• 6 Napkins/ Sanitary Pads will be provided at a nominal rate of Rs.6/- to them.
• They can contact their areas ASHA worker to take the benefit.
• To avail the benefit of Odisha Khushi Scheme, there is no need to apply anywhere.
• School going girls will get the free napkins/ sanitary pads in their school.
• And rural women will contact the ASHA worker of their area to get sanitary pads/ napkins on nominal price.

Eligibility

• Girls Students of Odisha.
• Girl should be Studying in Class 6th to Class 12th.

Benefits

• The following benefits will be provided under Odisha Khushi Scheme :-
  • Free Sanitary Pads to Class 6th to Class 12th Girls.
  • Six Napkins for Rs. 6/- to Rural Women.

• No Documents Required.

How to Apply

• There is no need to apply anywhere to avail the benefit of Odisha Khushi Scheme.
• Girls Students of Class 6th to Class 12 will get free Sanitary Pads/ Napkins in their School.
• And the rural women will contact their area ASHA Worker to get 6 Napkins at the nominal rate of Rs. 6/-.
