Scheme Introduction: A Brief Overview

• With an aim to provide subsidised food to farmers and labourers visiting the mandi, the Haryana government has launched a beneficial scheme.
• The scheme announced is known as "Atal Kisan Mazdoor Canteen".
• Under this scheme, farmers and labourers offer subsidised meals at Rs 10/- per plate.
• The primary objective of the scheme is to provide nutritious food to farmers and labourers at an affordable price.
• To provide this subsidised food, the government will establish Atal Kisan Mazdoor Canteen within mandi premises.
• The announced scheme is also known by other names such as "Atal Kisan Mazdoor Canteen Scheme Haryana" or "Haryana Mukhyamantri Atal Kisan Mazdoor Canteen Yojana".
• It will help these beneficiaries to have their meal within the mandi premises at an affordable price, without going anywhere.
• The government is already providing benefits to these farmers and labourers on different verticals with their other schemes such as : -
  • Haryana Mukhyamantri Kisan Evam Khetihar Mazdoor Jiwan Suraksha Yojana.
    
• The meal provided under the Atal Kisan Mazdoor Canteen Yojana comprises 4 Chapatis, One seasonal vegetable, and one dal.
• All these items will be provided to these beneficiaries at Rs 10/- per plate.
• Under the Atal Kisan Mazdoor Canteen Yojana, the government has opened 46 canteens in the state, with 40 new canteens to be built in the coming months.
• The canteen installed under the Atal Kisan Mazdoor Canteen Yojana will be operated by women's of Self Help Group under the Haryana State Rural Livelihood (HSRLM).
• The Atal Kisan Mazdoor Canteen will be operated daily from 11 AM to 3 PM.
• Farmers and labourers coming to mandi can avail the subsidised food benefits from these canteens.
• The Haryana State Agriculture Marketing Board (HSAMB) has set up these canteens with the help of Haryana State Rural Livelihood Mission.

Scheme Benefits

• Under the Haryana Atal Kisan Mazdoor Canteen Yojana, the farmers and laborers will receive following benefits : -

  Subsidised food at Rs 10/- per plate. Beneficiaries can avail meals from canteens established in the mandi premises. Following list of items will be served on each plate : - 4 Chapati. Rice. Dal and Seasonal Vegetables.

Eligibility Requirements

• The benefit of subsidised meals will be provided to such beneficiaries who meet the following eligibility conditions outlined in the Haryana Atal Kisan Mazdoor Canteen Yojana : -
  • All Farmers and Labourers visiting to Mandi.
  • Employees working within the Mandi premises.
  • Other mandi members.

Required Documents

• Beneficiaries are not required to submit or present any documents to receive benefits of Haryana Atal Kisan Mazdoor Canteen Yojana.

Steps to Apply

• The Haryana government has launched the Atal Kisan Mazdoor Canteen to provide subsidised food to farmers and labourers.
• To offer subsidised food at Rs 10/- the government has set up Atal Canteen in mandi premises.
• However, to receive benefits of Haryana Atal Kisan Mazdoor Canteen, beneficiaries are not required to submit any application.
• Beneficiaries will receive the subsidised food from these Atal Canteen directly without doing any formalities.
• These Atal Canteen will operate daily from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
• In the given hours beneficiaries can avail subsidised food.
