Scheme Introduction: A Brief Overview

• The Assam Raj Bhavan, in association with two esteemed agencies, invites applications for a scholarship program called "Governor Assam's Pratibha Protsahan Yojana".
• This scholarship program is specifically designed to support the motivated civil service aspirants from Assam.
• Governor Assam's Pratibha Protsahan Yojana (GAPPY) offers financial assistance and high quality coaching facilities to deserving candidates.
• With the help of this initiative, these aspirants can achieve their goal of becoming civil servants.
• Assam's Pratibha Protsahan Yojana program was launched by the Assam Governor Shri Lakshman Prasad Acharya on September 17, 2024.
• To provide the scholarship benefit, the government has partnered with two agencies, namely "Paavan Chintan Dhara Ashram" and "Arya Pratibha Vikas Sansthan".
• Announced scheme is also known by other names such as "Assam Free UPSC Coaching Scholarship" or "Governor Assam Pratibha Protsahan Scheme".
• Selected candidates will receive both Preliminary and Mains Coaching facility for UPSC Civil Services.
• The Pratibha Protsahan Yojana targets to provide financial support and coaching facilities to 512 dedicated aspirants.
• Of these, 500 aspirants will be shortlisted for an online coaching program and remaining 12 for direct mode coaching.
• To select these highly motivated aspirants, the authorities will screen 5000 applicants on the basis of marks secured by them in class 12 and graduation.
• Governor Assam's Pratibha Protsahan Yojana selection procedure will go through a Screening test, Group Counseling and Personal Interview.
• The authority will conduct the screening test at some of their locations on a prescribed date and time.
• Aspirants who pass the screening test will be invited for group counselling sessions, followed by personal interview.
• Candidates who qualify all stages successfully will be eligible to receive the Governor Assam's Pratibha Protsahan Yojana benefit.
• The scholarship covers coaching fees, accommodation, and meals. However, the meals and accommodation benefits are for direct mode coaching.
• Expenses not mentioned in the advertisement will not be covered under the scheme and shall be borne by the selected candidates.
• The nodal department will transfer the coaching and other promised funds directly to the coaching institutes.
• No direct reimbursement under the scheme will be made to candidates.
• Among 12 beneficiaries who will receive direct mode coaching, two candidates will be mentored by Arya Pratibha Vikas Sansthan and rest 10 will be mentored by Project UPSC of Paavan Chintan Dhara Ashram.
• Applicants must submit their Pratibha Protsahan Yojana application online within the given date.
• Applications submitted other than the given mode or beyond the deadline will be rejected.
• Shortlisted applicants can check their Pratibha Protsahan Yojana results online.

Scheme Benefits

• Governor Assam's Assam Pratibha Protsahan Yojana aims to offer the following benefits to its beneficiaries : -
  • Free of cost coaching facilities to UPSC Aspirants.
  • Coaching will be provided for both Preliminary and Mains Examination.
  • Coaching will be provided online and offline.
  • Offline coaching facility will be provided at New Delhi.
  • Total 512 aspirants will receive scheme benefits, of which 500 will be selected for online and 12 for offline coaching.

Eligibility Requirements

• The benefits under the Governor Assam's Pratibha Protsahan Yojana will be provided to such candidates who meet the following eligibility conditions as outlined in the scheme notification : -
  • Applicants must be domiciled residents of Assam.
  • Applicants must be a UPSC aspirants.
  • Applicants already appeared for the UPSC prelims or mains are also eligible.
  • Applicants annual family income must be within the limits.
  • Applicants must belong to any of the given category; General/STH/ STP/ SC/ OBC/ MOBC.

• Aspirants must submit the following documents when submitting application form for Pratibha Protsahan Yojana : -
  • Age Proof.
  • Aadhaar Card.
  • Voter ID Card.
  • Academic Certificates (Marksheet/Certificate of HSLC, HSSLC, Degree Postgraduate and other).
  • Annual Family Income (If required).
  • Latest Passport Size Photograph.
  • Applicant Signature (on white paper with black ink pen).
  • Disability Certificate (If any)
  • Caste Certificate.

Steps to Apply

• Applicants can submit the Governor Assam's Pratibha Protsahan Yojana application online.
• Application form for Pratibha Protsahan Yojana is available at https://gappy.assam.gov.in/.
• From the home page, select the "New Registration" tab.
• Now by providing the relevant details applicants need to complete the registration process.
• Upon successfull registration, applicants will receive login details through their provided email id.
• Login with the received details to fill the Governor Assam's Pratibha Protsahan Yojana application form.
• Post login, applicants need to provide the other details.
• Upload the necessary documents in given size and format.
