West Bengal Aikyashree Scheme

Introduction

• West Bengal Aikyashree Scheme is the most prominent scheme of West Bengal Government for the welfare of minority community students.
• It was launched on 1st of August 2019.
• West Bengal Minorities Development and Finance Corporation is the implementing agency of this scheme.
• The main objective behind launching West Bengal Aikyashree Scholarship Scheme is to provide financial assistance as a scholarship to minority students so that they can complete their basic and higher education without thinking about the financial burden.
• West Bengal Aikyashree Scholarship Scheme has 3 main components :-
  • Pre Matric Scholarship for Class 1st to Class 10th Students.
  • Post Matric Scholarship for Class 11th to Ph.D. Students.
  • Merit cum Means Scholarship for Technical and Professional Courses Students.
• The following financial assistance per year will be provided to Students belonging to Minority Community under West Bengal Aikyashree Scholarship Scheme :-

• Students applying for Scholarship from Class 1st to PhD should have annual income of not more than Rs. 2,00,000/- per year.
• Whereas, Students applying for Scholarship for Technical and Professional Courses should have annual income of not more than Rs. 2,50,000/- per Year.
• The last date to apply for West Bengal Aikyashree Scholarship Scheme is 30-11-2023.
• Eligible students can apply by filling Online Application Form of West Bengal Aikyashree Scholarship Scheme which is available on West Bengal Minorities Development and Finance Corporation (WBMDFC) Website.

Eligibility Criteria

• Student should be a Permanent Resident of West Bengal.
• Student belongs to any of the below mentioned minority community are only eligible to apply :-
  • Muslims.
  • Sikhs.
  • Jains.
  • Parsis.
  • Buddhist.
  • Christians.
• Student should be studying in any of the below mentioned course :-
  • From Class 1st to Class 10.
  • From Class 11th to Ph.D.
  • In Technical and Professional Courses.
• Student must secure minimum 50% in previous final examination.
• The Annual Family Income of Students should not be more than :-
  • Rs. 2,00,000/- for Class 1st to Ph.D. Students.
  • Rs. 2,50,000/- for Technical and Professional Courses Students.

How to Apply

• Eligible Students can apply for Aikyashree Scholarship Scheme of West Bengal Government through Online Application Form.
• Online Application Form of West Bengal Aikyashree Scholarship Scheme is available on West Bengal Minorities Development and Finance Corporation (WBMDFC) Portal.
• Click on Students's Area for New Registration.
• Choose the District of Educational Institute and Fill the Registration Form of Aikyashree Scholarship Scheme.
• Fill the basic details in the Registration Form and Click on Submit Button to Submit it.
• Portal will then generate a User Name and Password.
• Login in the Portal with the help of received User Name and Password.
• Now Fill the West Bengal Aikyashree Scholarship Scheme Online Application Form carefully.
• Upload all the required documents on the portal.
• Verify the filled details and then Submit the Application Form of Aikyashree Scholarship Scheme.
• Take a Print Out of the Aikyashree Scholarship Scheme Application Form and Submit it in School/ College/ Institute.
• Application Form and the Documents are subject to verification.
• Once verified, the amount of assistance under West Bengal Aikyashree Scholarship Scheme will be transferred in the bank account of students.
• Eligible Students can apply for West Bengal Aikyashree Scholarship Scheme on or before 30th of November 2023.
• The last date to correct any defected application of Aikyashree Scholarship Scheme is 30-01-2024.
• Beneficiary Students can also check the Application Status of West Bengal Aikyashree Scheme by using their Applicant ID.

Features of the Scheme

• Minimum 50% marks in previous examination is mandatorily need to continue the Aikyashree Scholarship.
• Allowance will be provided to hostellers and day scholars.
• Regular attendance have to maintained by the student.
• Any violation of discipline of school or other condition, the scholarship will be suspended or cancelled by the State Government without giving any prior notice.
• If applicant obtains the benefit of Aikyashree Scholarship Scheme by giving false statement then his/ her scholarship will be cancelled or State Government must have right to recover the payment from student.
