Punjab Old Age Pension Scheme

Introduction

• Punjab Old Age Pension Scheme is major social welfare scheme of Punjab Government.
• The main objective behind launching this scheme to provide financial security cover to old age people of Punjab.
• Social Security and Women & Child Development Department of Punjab Government is the nodal department of this scheme.
• Under Punjab Old Age Pension Scheme, Government of Punjab will provide monthly financial assistance as a pension to all eligible beneficiaries.
• Monthly Pension of Rs. 1,500/- per Month will be provide to old age people of Punjab under Old Age Pension Scheme.
• The Age Limit set by Punjab Government for Old Age Pension Scheme is :-
  • 58 Year or Above for Women Beneficiary.
  • 65 Year or Above for Men Beneficiary.
• Only those old age people of Punjab are eligible whose annual income is below Rs. 60,000/- per year.
• Beneficiary should not own a house having area of more than 200 square meter in urban area.
• If Beneficiary has own any of the below mentioned lands as per maximum limit then he/ she are also eligible for Punjab Old Age Pension Scheme :-
  • Maximum 2.5 Acre Nehri or Chahi Land OR,
  • Maximum 5 Acre Barani Land OR,
  • Maximum Waterlogged 5 Acre Land.
• Both Online and Offline Application Process is available for Punjab Old Age Pension Scheme.
• Eligible Beneficiary can apply for financial assistance as monthly pension through 2 ways :-
  • Punjab Old Age Pension Scheme Online Application Form.
  • Punjab Old Age Pension Scheme Offline Application Form.

Benefits

• The following benefits will be provided to the beneficiary under Punjab Old Age Pension Scheme.
  • Financial Assistance of Rs 1500/- per Month as Pension will be provided.

Eligibility

• Beneficiary should be a Permanent Resident of Punjab.
• The Annual Income of Beneficiary should not be more than Rs. 60,000/- per Year.
• Beneficiary should not be residing in more than 200 Square Meters of House in Urban Area.
• The Age of Beneficiary should be :-

  Gender	Age Limit
  Women	58 Years or Above.
  Men	65 Years or Above.

• Beneficiary should own any of the below mentioned amount of land :-
  • Maximum 2.5 Acre Nehri or Chahi Land, OR
  • Maximum 5 Acre Barani Land, OR
  • Waterlogged 5 Acre Land.

Document Required

• The following documents is required to avail the benefit of monthly pension under Punjab Old Age Pension Scheme :

  Domicile or Residence Proof of Punjab. Any One of the Following Document for Age Proof :- Aadhar Card. Voter Identity Card. Birth Certificate. Matriculation Certificate. PAN Card. Driving License. Passport. Bank Account Detail. Self Declaration Form. Land Related Documents/ Patwari Report. (In Rural Area). EOMC Property Verification. (In Urban Area).

Online Application Process

• Eligible Beneficiary can avail the benefit of monthly pension by filling the Online Application Form of Punjab Old Age Pension Scheme.
• Online Application Form of Punjab Old Age Pension Scheme is available on Punjab Government's Digital Punjab Portal.
• Beneficiary has to Register themselves first.
• The following details will be filled in the Registration Form of Old Age Pension Scheme :-
  • Beneficiary Name.
  • Email.
  • Mobile Number.
  • Gender.
  • Password.
• After Registration, Beneficiary has to Login in the portal by entering Mobile Number/ Email and Password.
• Choose Old Age Pension Scheme after Login and fill the below mentioned details in Old Age Pension Scheme Online Application Form :-
  • Personal Details
  • Contact Details
• Upload all the required documents.
• Now Click on Submit to submit the Online Application Form of Punjab Old Age Pension Scheme.
• Child Development Project Officer and District Social Security Officer will scrutinized the application of beneficiary.
• After Verification, Selected Pensioner will get financial assistance Rs 1500/- per month as a pension and will be credited in his/ her account on quarterly basis.
• Beneficiary can also check the Application Status of Punjab Old Age Pension Scheme Online.

Offline Application Process

• Eligible Beneficiary can also apply through Offline Application Form to avail the benefit of Punjab Old Age Pension Scheme.
• Beneficiary can get the Offline Application Form of Punjab Old Age Pension Scheme free of cost from any of the following Offices or Centres :-
  • Office of District Social Security Officer.
  • Office of Child Development Project Officer.
  • Panchayat and B.D.P.O Office.
  • SDM Office.
  • Anganwadi Centre.
  • Sewa Kendra
• Collect the Application Form and Fill it Correctly.
• Attach all the required documents with the application form.
• Submit the Application Form of Punjab Old Age Pension Scheme along with all the documents in the same office or centre from where it was collected.
• Received Application Forms and Documents will be verified by Child Development Project Officer and then forwarded to District Social Security Officer for further approval.
• After verification selected beneficiary will get monthly pension of Rs. 1,500/- on Quarterly Basis in the given bank account.
