Scheme Introduction: A Brief Overview

• Vahli Dikri Yojana is the flagship scheme of Gujarat Government for the welfare of Girl Child.
• It was launched on 02-08-2019.
• Department of Women & Child Development of Gujarat Government is the nodal department of this scheme.
• The main objective behind launching this scheme is to decreases the school drop outs of girls and encourage them to pursue and complete their higher education.
• Gujarat Vahli Dikri Yojana is also known by other name such as "Gujarat Vahli Dikri Scheme".
• Government of Gujarat will provide financial assistance of Rs. 1,10,000/- to girl child under Vahli Dikri Yojana.
• This financial assistance will be provided to girl child in 3 stages.
• The 3 stages of Gujarat Vahli Dikri Yojana in which financial assistance is provided are as follows :-
  • Rs. 4,000/- will be provided to girl when she take admission in Class 1st.
  • Rs. 6,000/- will be provided to girl when she take admission in Class 9th.
  • Rs. 1,00,000/- will be provided to a girl when she attain the age of 18 years and want to pursue higher education or want to get married.
• The financial assistance provided to girl child in stage 1 and stage 2 will be spend by the beneficiary on her educational expenses.
• And the financial assistance of Rs. 1,00,000/- in stage 3 will either be used for girl's higher education or will spent on her marriage once she attain the age of 18 years.
• Girl born after 02-08-2019 are eligible to get financial assistance under Gujarat Vahli Dikri Yojana.
• Families whose annual income is more than Rs. 2,00,000/- per year are not eligible to avail the benefit of Gujarat Vahli Dikri Yojana.
• The financial benefit under Gujarat Vahli Dikri Yojana is only applicable for 2 girl child per family.
• Eligible Beneficiaries can apply for financial assistance through by filling Vahli Dikri Yojana Application Form.

Scheme Benefits

• Benefits provided to eligible beneficiary under Gujarat Government's Vahli Dikri Yojana are as follows :-

  Stage	Amount
  When Girl Enroll in Class 1st	Rs. 4,000/-
  When Girl Enroll in Class 9th	Rs. 6,000/-
  When Girl Pursue Higher Education or Getting Married	Rs. 1,00,000/-
  Total	Rs. 1,10,000/-

Eligibility Requirements

• Benefits of Vahli Dikri Yojana will be provided to only those beneficiaries who fulfil the following eligibility conditions sets by Government of Gujarat :-
  • Beneficiary should be permanent Resident of Gujarat.
  • Applicant should be a Women.
  • Girl Child should be born after 02-08-2019.
  • The Annual Family Income of Beneficiary should be below Rs. 2,00,000/-.
  • Only Two Girl Child per Family are Eligible to Apply.

• The following documents is required at the time of applying for the benefit of Vahli Dikri Yojana of Government of Gujarat :-
  • Application Form.
  • Domicile of Gujarat.
  • Aadhar Card.
  • Passport Size Photo.
  • Income Certificate.
  • Caste Certificate.
  • Birth Certificate of Child.
  • Bank Account Details.
  • Affidavit.

Steps to Apply

• The only way to apply for Gujarat Vahli Dikri Yojana is through Application Form.
• Application Form of Vahli Dikri Yojana is available at Gram Panchayat Office or Anganwadi Kendra.
• Fill the Vahli Dikri Yojana Application Form correctly and attach all the required documents with it.
• Submit the Application Form along with the documents in the same office from where the form was collected.
• Application Form and Documents will be scrutinized by the concerned officials of Department of Women & Child Development.
• List of Selected Beneficiary will then made by the officials.
• Selected Beneficiary will be informed through SMS about the eligibility or ineligibility.
• Eligible Beneficiaries will get financial assistance in their bank account once their application is finally approved by the department office.
