Punjab Mukhyamantri Nishulk Teerth Yatra Yojana

Introduction

• On 6th of November 2023, Punjab Government Cabinet gave its approval to start Mukhyamantri Nishulk Teerth Yatra Yojana in Punjab.
• On 27 December 2023, on the auspicious occasion of Guru Parv, the Punjab Government flagged off the first batch of the Mukhyamantri Teerth Yatra Yojana in the presence of Chief Minister Shri Bhagwant Singh Mann and Delhi CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal.
  
• Now Residents of Punjab will visit the Pilgrimage Site of their choice free of cost under Mukhyamantri Nishulk Teerth Yatra Yojana.
• This scheme is going to be known by some other popular names such as :- "Punjab Mukhyamantri Teerth Yatra Yojana" or "Punjab Chief Minister Free Pilgrimage Site Scheme" or "Punjab Mukhyamantri Teerth Darshan Yojana" or "Punjab Mukhyamantri Muft Teerth Yatra Yojana" or "Punjab CM Teerth Yatra Yojana".
• Punjab Government will implement this scheme in a phase wise manner.
• First Phase of Mukhyamantri Nishulk Teerth Yatra Yojana will start from 27 November 2023 and ends on 29 February 2024.
• In the first phase, over 50 thousands devotees will have the opportunity to visit their choosen pilgrimage site without any fees.
• Expense incurred on the devotee during the pilgrimage like tickets, accomodation, and food will be borne by the Punjab Government.
• Free pilgrimage tour includes Train and A.C bus tickets, room facility in 3 star hotel, medical facility, and a kit containing bedsheet, blanket, towel, oil and a comb.
• Under the Punjab Mukhyamantri Teerth Yatra Yojna, the devotee may visit any of the following pilgrimage site as per their choices: -

  • Sri Patna Sahib. (By Train)
  • Sri Anandpur Sahib. (By AC Bus)
  • Talwandi Sabo. (By AC Bus)

  • Sri Vrindavan Dham. (By Train)
  • Mata Vaishno Devi Ji. (By AC Bus)
  • Mata Jwala Devi Ji. (By AC Bus)
  • Varanasi. (By Train)
  • Mata Chintpurni Ji. (By AC Bus)
  • Sri Khatu Shyam Ji. (By AC Bus)
  • Sri Salasar Balaji Dham. (By AC Bus), and

• Punjab government allocated 40 Crore for the successful implementation of the scheme.
  
• Under the scheme, devotees age above 60 years and are medically fit are eligible to take the benefits of the scheme.
• Individuals who are above 75 years of age have the option to bring a caretaker along with them.
• Eligible beneficiaries can apply for the Punjab Mukhymantri Teerth Yojna online through the official Connect Punjab website.
• Along with this, the beneficiary may also submit their application offline for this they have to collect the application form from their respective district DC office.

Benefits of Scheme

• Elderly people in the state will receive the following benefits under the Punjab Mukhyamantri Nishulk Teerth Yatra Yojna : -
  • Free of Cost Pilgrimage Site Visit.
  • Expenses incurred during the pilgrimage is to be borne by the government.
  • Each devotee will get a teerth yatra kit that contains Bedsheet, Blanket, Towel, Oil and a Comb.

Eligibility

• To receive the benefits of the scheme, the beneficiary needs to fulfill certain conditions as prescribed under the Mukhyamantri Nishulk Teerth Yatra Yojana: -
  • Beneficiary should be a Permanent Resident of Punjab.
  • Beneficiary age should be more than 60 years.
  • Beneficiary should be Medically Fit and should not have any health related complaints.

Online Application Process

• Eligible Beneficiaries can apply for Mukhyamantri Nishulk Teerth Yatra Yojana of Punjab Government through Online Application Form.
• Online Application Form of Punjab Mukhyamantri Nishulk Teerth Yatra Yojana is available at Connect Punjab Portal.
• To apply, the beneficiary has to Register themselves on the portal first.
• Fill the below mentioned details in the Registration Form of Mukhyamantri Nishulk Tirth Yatra Yojana :-
  • Name.
  • Email.
  • Mobile Number.
  • Choose Password.
• Upon verifying the submitted details, click on the register button.
• Now the applicant need to Login on the portal with the help of Email/ Mobile Number and Chosen Password.
• After successful login, select the Mukhyamantri Nishulk Teerth Yatra Yojana from the list of services.
• Fill the Application Form and upload the required documents.
• Preview the Application Form and then Click on Submit Button for final submission.
• Concerned Officials will verify the details then prepare a list of eligible beneficiaries.
• Beneficiary shortlisted for Nishulk Teerth Yatra will be informed via SMS on their Mobile Number.
• Additionally, the date and time of the pilgrimage will also be communicated via SMS.
• Beneficiary can also Check the Application Status of Punjab Mukhyamantri Nishulk Teerth Yatra Yojana by entering their Applicant ID on Connect Punjab Portal.

Offline Application Process

• Eligible beneficiary may also submit their Punjab Mukhyamantri Nishulk Tirth Yatra Yojana application through offline.
• For this, the beneficiary need to collect the application form from DC office of their respective district.
• After receiving the application form, the applicants are required to carefully fill in their Aadhar number, voter id details, mobile number, address and other information.
• To confirm the medical fitness, the applicant must obtain a signature of the medical officer on the duly filled in application form.
• Affix all the documents with the duly filled in application form and submit it to the DC office.
• On completion of successfull verification process, the shortlisted applicants will be informed via SMS.
• Thereafter, a bus or train ticket as offered for the pilgrimage will be issued to the beneficiaries.
