Telangana Aasara Pension Scheme

Introduction

• Social Security Pensions provides financial support to vulnerable people of society to live life with dignity.
• Growing cost of living demands an increase in pension for better living, so Government of Telangana announced a new welfare scheme named Aasara Pension Scheme on 1 October 2014.
• Scheme is implemented by SERP (Society for Elimination of Rural Poverty) Department of Rural Development, Telangana.
• Aasara Pension Scheme is meant for the socio-economic weaker section of society that covers pension for Old age people, people with HIV-AIDS, Widows, Weavers, Toddy Tappers, Single women, Filarial patients and Differently abled persons.
• Criteria are followed for Exclusion and Inclusion for the grant of social security pension under Aasara Pension Scheme so that poorest of the poor could avail the benefits.
• Aasara Pension Scheme is only for disadvantaged families who have no means of assured income.
• 36 lakh people above the age of 57 years benefited from scheme. New pension card with barcode is issued to 46 lakh pensioners.
• Household whose Annual family income is less than Rs.1.50 lakhs in rural area and Rs. 2.00 lakhs in urban areas shall be eligible for social security pension.
• Benefits can apply for Telangana Aasara Pension Scheme by applying online through municipal website https://gwmc.gov.in or by submitting offline application form to Gram Panchayat Secretary/ Village Revenue Officer in rural area or Bill Collector in urban areas
• Pension shall be sanctioned after verification of beneficiary through Aadhar Enabled Payment System.
• Disbursement of pensions shall be done from 1st to 7th of every month.
• Pension will be directly transferred to the beneficiaries account in local bank or post office.

• The following monthly financial assistance will be provided to all beneficiaries under Aasara Pension Scheme of Telangana Government :-

Eligibility Criteria

• Person belonging to Primitive and Vulnerable Tribal Groups.
• Family with no earning person which is headed by women.
• Family having persons with disability.
• Homeless, house less families living in temporary structures especially in urban areas.
• Families headed by widow/ ill person/ aged or disabled person with no assured earning.
• Landless agriculture labours, rural artisan/ craftsmen, slum dwellers, person earning on daily basis like coolies, rag pickers, destitute and other category in rural or urban areas.

Ineligiblity of Aasara Pension Scheme

• The following mentioned people are not eligible to avail the benefit of monthly pension under Telangana Aasara Pension Scheme :-

  Person having land more than 3 acres (wet/irrigated dry) or 7.5 acres dry land. Person whose children are in below mentioned employment :- Government Employee. Public Sector Employee. Private Sector Employee. Outsourced Employee. Contractual Employee. Person whose children are :- Doctors. Contractors. Professionals. Self Employed. Person who has large businesses, such as :- Oil Mills. Rice Mills. Petrol Pumps. Rig Owners. Shop Owners etc. Person having four wheeler or big vehicles. Person receiving government or freedom fighter pension.

  • Husband Death Certificate. (For Widow Applicant).

  • SADAREM Certificate. (For Disable Applicant).
  • Toddy Tapper Card. (For Toddy Tapper Applicants).
  • Weavers Card. (For Weaver Applicant).
  • EPF Enrollment Card. (For Beedi Workers).
  • Unmarried Affidavit. (For Single Women).
  • Medical Certificate of HIV-AIDS Applicant.
  • Medical Certificate of Filaria Applicant.

Mandatory Age Limit under Aasara Pension Scheme

How to Apply

• Eligible Applicant can apply for monthly pension under Telangana Aasara Pension Scheme according to their category by filling Offline Application Form
• Offline Application Form of Aasara Pension Scheme of Government of Telangana can be obtain from any of the below mentioned offices :-
  • Gram Panchayat Office.
  • Village Revenue Officer Office.
  • MeeSeva Centres.
  • Municipal Corporation Office.
• Enter your details in the application form, attach needed document and submit it to the Gram Panchayat Secretary/ Village Revenue Officer in rural area or Bill Collector in urban areas.
• After thorough verification, if applicant application form is found to be authentic then he/she will be selected for scheme and will be intimidated through SMS.
• Thereafter the monthly pension under Telangana Aasara Pension Scheme will be transferred in the bank account of beneficiary.

Features of Scheme

• The verification of applicant shall be done by Gram Panchayat or by Municipal/ Deputy Commissioner of the GHMC (Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation).
• MPDO's (Mandal Parishad Development officer) in rural areas and Tehsildars/ Municipal Commissioners in urban areas shall enter the data of verified applicant in Aasara Software for sanction of Pension.
• On approval by District Collector Aasara Pension Card shall be distributed to the beneficiaries.
• Income certificate needed to be submitted where income is the basis for sanction of pension.
• On unavailability of Age proof document Verification officer's assessment or Medical Board assessment will be done for age determination.
• The CEO, SERP (Society for Elimination of Rural Poverty), Telangana, Hyderabad and all the District Collectors shall take full responsibility to implement Aasara Pension scheme online.
