West Bengal Lok Prasar Prakalpa Scheme

Introduction

• Lok Prasar Prakalpa is the flagship scheme of West Bengal Government.
• This scheme also known by other name called "Lokprasar Prakalpo Scheme" or "Lokprasar Prakalpa Scheme".
• The main objective behind starting Lok Prasar Prakalpa Scheme is to provide social security and an fixed income source to folk artists of West Bengal.
• Department of Information and Cultural Affairs of West Bengal Government is the nodal department of this scheme.
• Government of West Bengal will provide financial assistance to registered folk artist of West Bengal.
• This financial assistance under Lok Prasar Prakalpa Scheme will be provided to every age group folk artist but under different tabs.
• Financial Assistance/ Retainer Fees of Rs. 1,000/- per month will be provided to all folk artist having age between 18 Years to 60 Years.
• Likewise Financial Assistance as a Pension of Rs. 1,000/- per Month will be provided to all those folk artist who attained the age of 60 Years.
• Performance Fees of Rs. 1,000/- per Program will be provided to every actively performing folk artists.
• Only Registered Folk Artists are eligible to avail the benefit of financial assistance and monthly old age pension under Lok Prasar Prakalpa Scheme.
• Eligible Folk Artist can apply for financial assistance by filling the Application Form of West Bengal Lok Prasar Prakalpa Scheme.

Benefits of Scheme

• The following financial assistance will be provided to all Eligible Folk Artists under West Bengal Lok Prasar Prakalpa Scheme :-
  • Stipend of Rs. 1,000/- per Month to Folk Artist. (Age should be between 18 Years to 60 Years)
  • Monthly Pension of Rs. 1,000/- per Month to Folk Artist. (Age should be 60 Years or More)
  • Performance Fee of Rs. 1,000/- per Program to Actively Performing Folk Artist.

Eligibility Criteria

• The below mentioned eligibility conditions is required to fulfilled in order to avail the benefit of financial assistance under Lok Prasar Prakalpa Scheme :-

  Applicant should be a Permanent Resident of West Bengal OR, Applicant should be a Resident of West Bengal for Minimum 10 Years. Applicant should be a Folk Artist. The Age of Folk Artist should be :- 18 Year to 60 Years for Monthly Stipend. 60 Years or Above for Monthly Old Age Pension. Applicant should be a Registered Folk Artist.

Documents Required

• The following documents is required at the time of applying for the benefit of West Bengal Lok Prasar Prakalpa Scheme :-
  • Domicile or Residence Proof of West Bengal.
  • Ration Card.
  • Aadhar Card.
  • Voter Identity Card for Age Proof.
  • Income Certificate.
  • Folk Artist Registration Number.
  • Passport Size Photograph.
  • Caste Certificate. (If Applicable)
  • Mobile Number.
  • Bank Account Details.

How to Apply

• Eligible Folk Artists can apply for monthly financial assistance by filling Application Form of Lok Prasar Prakalpa Scheme.
• Lok Prasar Prakalpa Scheme Application Form is available free of cost at the any of the below mentioned offices :-
  • Office of the Block Development Officer.
  • Office of the Sub Divisional Officer.
  • Office of the Kolkata Municipal Commissioner.
• Collect the Application Form of Lok Prasar Prakalpa Scheme and fill it correctly.
• Attach all the required documents with the Application Form.
• Submit the Application Form of Lok Prasar Prakalpa Scheme along with all the documents in the same office from where it was collected.
• Application Form and Documents will be verified by the officials of Department of Information & Cultural Affairs.
• After due verification, financial assistance of Rs. 1,000/- per Month under West Bengal Lok Prasar Prakalpa Scheme will be transferred in the bank account of Eligible Folk Artists.
