Karnataka Prasoothi Araika Scheme

Introduction

• Karnataka Prasoothi Araike Scheme is the major welfare scheme of Karnataka Government started for pregnant women of State.
• It was started in the year 2007.
• Department of Women and Child Development of Karnataka is the nodal department of this scheme.
• This scheme is also known by other name due to its spelling such as :-
  • Karnataka Prasuthi Araike Scheme.
  • Karnataka Prasooti Araike Scheme.
• It is 100% Karnataka Government funded scheme.
• The main objective behind this scheme is to provide financial assistance to women to take care their post natal expenses.
• Government of Karnataka will provide financial assistance of Rs. 2,000/- (including the amount of Janani Suraksha Yojana) to BPL Category Lactating Mother to take care her post natal expenses.
• For the SC and ST Women, the financial assistance is Rs. 3,000/- in Prasoothi Araike Scheme.
• This financial assistance also include the financial assistance provided under Janani Suraksha Yojana.
• Women belongs to BPL Category, SC and ST are eligible to take the benefit of this financial assistance.
• Financial Assistance will be provided to beneficiaries in two installment.
• The amount of 1st Installment will be provided to beneficiaries during thier 2nd trimester of pregnancy.
• And the second installment amount will be provided to beneficiaries when the child will born in government hospital.
• Second Installment will only be given to beneficiary when the child will born in government hospital.
• This scheme is one of the four components of Samagra Mathru Aarogya Palane Scheme of Karnataka Government.
• To avail the benefit of Karnataka Prasoothi Araike Scheme, eligible beneficiaries can contact the ANM or ASHA Worker of their area.

Benefits

• Benefits received by women beneficiary under Karnataka Prasoothi Araike Scheme is mentioned below :-
  • Financial Assistance of Rs. 3,000/- to SC and ST Lactating Mother.
  • Financial Assistance of Rs. 2,000/- to BPL Category Lactating Mother.

Eligibility

• Women Beneficiary should be a Resident of Karnataka.
• Following Women are eligible under Prasoothi Araike Scheme :-
  • Pregnant Women.
  • Women belongs to BPL Category.
  • Women belongs to Schedule Caste/ Tribe Category.
  • Women who delivers her child in Government Hospital.

Document Required

• The below mentioned documents is required at the time of enrolling in Prasoothi Araike Scheme of Government of Karnataka :-
  • Residence Proof of Karnataka.
  • BPL Card or Ration Card.
  • Caste Certificate.
  • Aadhar Card.
  • Bank Account Details.
  • ANC Registration Number.
  • Mobile Number.

How to Apply

• Pregnant Women has to contact her area's ASHA Worker or ANM.
• ASHA Worker or ANM can enroll the Pregnant Women under Karnataka Prasoothi Araika Scheme by filling the Application Form.
• Then she also arranges all the pre and post natal checkups of pregnant women.
• During the 2nd Trimester, the pregnant women will receive their 1st installment of financial assistance.
• And when women give birth to a child in government hospital, the second installment will also be transferred into the bank account.
