Introduction

  • Yuvasree Scheme is the flagship scheme of the Government of West Bengal for unemployed youth.
  • It was launched on 1 October 2013.
  • Initially the name of this scheme was Yuva Utsav Prakalpa (YUP)-2013.
  • But on 18th September 2013 the name of the scheme was changed to Yuvashree Unemployment Allowance Scheme.
  • This scheme is also known by other name i.e. West Bengal Unemployment Allowance Scheme.
  • The main objective behind starting Yuvasree Unemployment Allowance Scheme is to support unemployed youth by providing them monthly unemployment allowance.
  • Labor Department of West Bengal(link is external) is responsible for the operation of this scheme.
  • Only those youth who are completely unemployed are eligible to avail the benefit monthly allowance under Yuvasree Unemployment Allowance Scheme of West Bengal Government.
  • The Age of Unemployed Youth should be between 18 years to 45 years.
  • It is mandatory for unemployed youth to pass class 8th or above examination to apply for this Yuvasree Unemployment Allowance.
  • Under the Yuvasree scheme, an unemployment allowance of Rs. 1,500/- per month will be provided to all eligible youth.
  • Youth eligible for Yuvasree Unemployment Allowance can avail the benefit of the scheme by applying through Online Application Form which is available on the Employment Bank Portal.(link is external)

Benefits of Scheme

  • Government of West Bengal will provide the below mentioned financial assistance as monthly unemployment allowance to unemployed youth of Bengal under Yuvasree Unemployment Allowance Scheme :-
    • Unemployment Allowance of Rs. 1,500/- per month.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicant should be a Resident of West Bengal.
  • Applicant should be Unemployed at the time of Applying.
  • Applicant should be enrolled as a Job Seeker in Employment Bank.
  • Applicant should have passed class 8th or above.
  • The Age of Applicant should be between 18 years to 45 years.
  • The applicant should not have availed any other Government Financial Assistance.

  • Residence Proof of West Bengal (Any 1 document required) :-
    • Domicile of West Bengal.
    • Ration Card.
    • Voter ID.
    • Aadhar Card.
    • Passport.
  • Birth Certificate.
  • Marksheet or Certificates of all Exams Passed.
  • Employment Bank Registration Card.
  • Bank Account Details.
  • Physical Challenged Certificate. (In case of Disability).
  • Caste Certificate. (If applicable).
  • Income Certificate.
  • Self Declaration Certificate.
  • Unemployment Certificate.

How to Apply

Features of the Scheme

  • Yuvashree Unemployment Allowance will be given to only one member of a family.
  • In every 6 months, the beneficiary will have to submit the Self Declaration Form to the office of the Sub Divisional Officer or Joint Director of Employment, Kolkata.
  • West Bengal Government will give Unemployment Allowance to 1 Lakh unemployed youth every year.
  • The selection of beneficiaries for unemployment allowance will be done on first come first serve basis.
  • The Yuvasree Unemployment Allowance will be given to the beneficiary only through Electronic Fund Transfer.
  • No other mode of application will be accepted for yuvasree unemployment allowance scheme if received other than the Employment Bank Portal.(link is external)
