Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s Solar Rooftop Capital Incentive Scheme

Introduction

• Chief Minister's Solar Rooftop Capital Incentive Scheme was launched in 2013 by government of Tamil Nadu.
• Under this Scheme, Consumer can install Solar PV plants at their home at subsidized costs.
• Subsidy of Rs.20,000 will be provided by state government of Tamil Nadu.
• Solar PV plants will have free comprehensive maintenance for five years.
• Installations of solar PV plants will result in reduction in Electricity bills.
• Only Domestic consumers with a TANGEDCO service connection are eligible under this scheme.
• Applicant can apply for Chief Minister's Solar Rooftop Capital Incentive Scheme either online or offline.

Eligibility Criteria

• Only Domestic consumers with a TANGEDCO service connection are eligible under this scheme.
• Subsidy will be applicable for 1kWp plants.
• The Scheme only applies to grid-connected rooftop solar PV systems.

• Aadhaar Card.
• Voter Id Card.
• PAN Card.
• Electricity DISCOM Bill.
• Passport size photograph.

How to Apply

• Applicant can apply for Chief Minister's Solar Rooftop Capital Incentive Scheme either online or offline.

  Offline	Download the Application form. Fill up the Application form and attach the required documents. Now submit the application form to TEDA through post or in person immediately.
  Online	Applicant need to visit on TEDA Portal. Now applicant need to click on "Apply Online". Enter your details and continue with filling up the application form. Now take a print of the submitted copy and submit it to TEDA through post or in person immediately.

• After submission of application form registration number will be communicated through SMS.
• Applications received will be scrutinized in tandem with TANGEDCO for the confirmation of Electricity Board's tariff category.
• After successful verification applicant can avail the benefit of the scheme.

Features of Scheme

• New meters will be installed at beneficiary residence which can measure both energy import and energy export.
  • Energy import - Energy transferred from TANGEDCO Distribution network to Consumers.
  • Energy Export - Energy transferred from Consumer to TANGEDCO Distribution network.
• With solar net-metering the Consumer pays for the difference between import and export energy.
• If the applicant moves to new address after registration, then new application need to be filed for new address. In this case application seniority of the old application will be canceled.
• Approved cost for solar PV plants is for flat roofs only. If the roof is not flat and requires additional mounting structures, then additional cost will have to be born by the applicant.
• Under this scheme, no Generation Based Incentive will be provided by Government of Tamil Nadu.
• The selection of Beneficiaries shall be done on first come first served basis.
• The entire solar Rooftops shall carry a warranty of five years with a panel warranty of 25 years.
