Telangana Arogya Lakshmi Scheme

Introduction

• Arogya Lakshmi Scheme is one of the flagship schemes of the Government of Telangana.
• It was launched on 1st of January 2015.
• Women Development and Child Welfare Department of Telangana is the nodal department of Aarogya Lakshmi Scheme.
• The main objective of starting this scheme is to provide Nutritious Food to the Pregnant and Lactating Mothers and their Child.
• Aarogya Lakshmi Scheme is also called "Telangana One Full Meal Programme" or "Telangana Arogya Laxmi Scheme".
• Under the Arogya Lakshmi Scheme,Nutritious Food will be provided every day to Pregnant and Lactating Mother and their Child.
• Nutritious Food includes 200 ml Milk, 1 Egg Daily, Rice and Dal for the Mother for 25 Days in a month.
• Children in the age group of 7 months to 3 years will be provided 16 Eggs per month along with 2.5 kg food packets.
• Children from 3 years to 6 years will be given 1 Egg per day along with Rice, Dal, Vegetables and Snacks.
• Nutritious Food every day will be made available to Pregnant and Lactating Mothers and their Children through Anganwadi Centres of their area.
• Pregnant Women and Lactating Mother will get themselves enrolled in their area's nearest Anganwadi Centre and avail the benefit of Telangana's Arogya Lakshmi Scheme.

Benefits of Scheme

• Nutritious Meal will be provided Every Day to Lactating and Pregnant Women.
• Arogya Lakshmi Nutritious Meal Consists :-
  • 200 ml of Milk for 25 Days a Month.
  • 1 Egg each Day with a Meal.
  • 100ml Curd for 2 Day in a Meal.
  • 16 Eggs per month and 2.5 Kg of Food Packet to Children aged between 7 months to 3 years.
  • 1 Egg per day with Rice, Dal, Vegetable and Snacks to Children aged between 3 years to 6 years.

Menu of One Full Meal

• The following meal per day will be provided to Pregnant Women and Lactating Mothers under Arogya Lakshmi Scheme of Telangana Government :-

  Day 1	Rice. Sambar with Vegetables. Egg Curry. Milk (200ml).
  Day 2	Rice. Dal. Green Leafy Vegetable Curry. Egg. Milk (200ml).
  Day 3	Rice. Dal with Leafy Vegetables. Egg Curry. Egg. Milk (200ml).
  Day 4	Rice. Sammbar with Vegetables. 100ml Curd. Egg Curry. Milk (200ml).
  Day 5	Rice. Dal. Green Leafy Vegetable Curry. Egg. Milk (200ml).
  Day 6	Rice. Dal with Leafy Vegetables. 100ml Curd. Egg. Milk (200ml).
  Day 7	Sunday Off.

Eligibility Criteria

• Beneficiary should be a resident of Telangana.
• Beneficiary should be Pregnant or Lactating Mother.

Document Required

• The following documents is required at the time of registering under Arogya Lakshmi Scheme of Telangana Government :-
  • Passport Size Photo.
  • Aadhar Card.
  • Ration Card.
  • Mobile Number.
  • Income Certificate.

How to Apply For Arogya Lakshmi Scheme

• Anganwadi Worker or ASHA registered the Pregnant Women and the Lactating Women in the Anganwadi Centres for Arogya Lakshmi Scheme.
• They have to go door-to-door to identify the beneficiary and register them.
• Once registered, the Pregnant Women, and Lactating Mother with their Child go to Anganwadi Centres every day and enjoy their nutritious meal.

Features of the Scheme

• Nutritious Food will be available only 6 days a week and Sunday will be a holiday.
• The scheme provides essential supplements for Pregnant and Lactating Mothers and their Child during the first 1000 days.
• Once the pregnancy is confirmed, the woman will be considered covered under the Arogya Lakshmi Scheme of Telangana Government.
• Along with full meal, women will also get the following benefits in Arogya Lakshmi Scheme :-
  • Periodic Weight Monitoring.
  • Iron / Folic Acid Tablets.
  • Counselling.
• So far more than 50 Lakh women had taken advantage of this scheme.
• 35,700 Anganwadi Centers of Telangana are involved in providing benefits of this scheme to eligible women.
• Nutritious Food Meal under Telangana Arogya Lakshmi Scheme consists :-
  • 1192.38 value of Energy (cal) per day.
  • 37.04 grams of Protien per day.
  • 578.56 miligram of Calcium per day.
• The cost of the meal is Rs. 21 per woman per day.
