Introduction
- After the implementation of Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY, there are some people who are unable to receive its benefits.
- Therefore, to provide quality healthcare services to each and every citizen of the state who are in need, the Uttarakhand Chief Minister announced Atal Ayushman Uttarakhand Yojana (AAUY).
- Under this scheme, the beneficiaries will get the benefits similar to those offered under the PM-JAY.
- Before its announcement, approximately 5 lakhs people were benefiting from PM-JAY.
- But now after the implementation of the AAUY the number of beneficiaries has increased to 23 lakhs.
- It means around 18 lakhs more beneficiaries will receive the benefits of free medical care under this new scheme.
- Schemes offers the cashless treatment of five lakh in a year per family and three days pre and 15 days post hospitalization cover.
- Treatment under the scheme will be available in government hospitals, AIIMS, and private hospitals referred by the government hospital.
- However, in emergency cases empanelled private hospitals can also provide treatment without any referral.
- As of now, there are 1350 types of diseases that will be treated under the scheme.

Eligibility Criteria
- To receive the benefits of the Atal Ayushman Uttarakhand Yojana (AAUY), the beneficiary must fulfill the following criteria: -
- He/She must be a domiciled resident of Uttarakhand.
- Beneficiaries must possess a ration card issued under the NFSA Act.
- People hail from economics disadvantaged families are eligible.
- His/her Aadhaar must be linked with a mobile number.
- However, families who are registered under the CGHS or any other health schemes of the government are not eligible.
Documents Required
- While submitting Atal Ayushman Uttarakhand Yojana (AAUY) application form, the beneficiary needs to share their following documents: -
- Aadhaar Card.
- Address proof.
- Income Certificate.
- Caste Certificate (if required)
- NFSA Ration Card.
- MSBY Card.
- Bank Documents.
- Photograph.
- Mobile number.
- SECC household ID.
How to apply
- Eligible applicants can apply for the Atal Ayushman Uttarakhand Yojana Golden Card offline.
- For this, the government organizes camps in municipal offices or at the Common Service Centre.
- Beneficiaries can also apply for the Atal Ayushman golden card by visiting the empaneled hospital.
- Applicants need to collect the AAUY application form.
- Fill out the details asked in the application form and
- Affix the list of necessary documents.
- Submit this application to the concerned hospital or at the camp.
- Once the details and documents submitted in the application form are successfully verified.
- The authority will issue the Atal Ayushman Uttarakhand Yojana Golden Card.
- Note: If the beneficiary doesn't possess the golden card, they must carry their Ration Card, Aadhaar or Voter ID card in case of emergency.
