About The Scheme

• Girl Students Health & Hygiene Scheme has been launched by the Government of Arunachal Pradesh.
• Department of School Education, Arunachal Pradesh is the nodal department of this scheme.
• Department of School education announced the scheme in 2013 for the girl students studying in class 6-12.
• Scheme focus was to retain, maintain hygiene and continue education of girls throughout the year.
• The following persons will be eligible under the Girl Students Health & Hygiene Scheme  :-
  • Applicant Must be a Resident of Arunachal Pradesh.
  • All Girl Students From Class 6 to 12.
  • Studying in Govt. and Govt. aided schools in Arunachal Pradesh.
• The Obejective of the scheme is to increase awareness among adolescent girls on Menstrual Hygiene.
• The following benefits are provided under the Girl Students Health & Hygiene Scheme  :-
  • 50/- Rupees per student per month in all Govt. schools through DBT.
• Sanitary napkins are supplied in decentralized mode on terms of cash transfer in the account of beneficiaries/ school management.
• Further distribution of napkins to the beneficiaries takes place at the school level.
• Sanitary napkins will be distributed in school to all girls students of government schools.

Benefits

• Under the scheme, the following financial assistance is provided to the girls studying in govt schools for using sanitary napkins:-
  • 50/- Rupees per student per month in all Govt. schools through DBT.

Eligibility

• The following persons will be eligible under the Girl Students Health & Hygiene Scheme  :-
  • Applicant Must be a Resident of Arunachal Pradesh.
  • All Girl Students From Class 6 to 12.
  • Studying in Govt. and Govt. aided schools in Arunachal Pradesh.

Documents Required

• Below is the list of documents that would be required at the time of registration under the scheme :-
  • Permanent residence certificate.
  • School Identity Card.
  • Adhar Card.

Application Process

• Girls Students will not need to fill any application form to take advantage of the scheme.
• Sanitary napkins will be given to the girl students by their schools.
